3/26/2019 (Permalink)

Some times water damage is hidden. It can be behind your walls, under the floor boards, or even on the outside of your home. Here are some great tips on what to look for if you think your home may have a small slow leak:

  • Accumulation- This is the most obvious sign that you have water damage. Standing or pooling water can results from old washing machines, water heaters or even toilets. Leaking water can be from your roof or drain pipe.
  • Discoloration- Look for water spots or stains on your ceiling. Walls may also have some cracks or bubbling.
  • Texture- When water seeps under your floor boards it will show a change in texture of your flooring. Keep an eye out for any sagging, warping or buckling
  • Odor- Smells may come from basements, walls, or other areas that have been accumulating water over a long period of time.
